Cohen & Perfetto recently helped long-time client, Storage Deluxe, close phase one of a two-phase, $560-million sale of 22 self storage properties to CubeSmart. Phase one entailed closing the sale of 16 of the self storage properties for a total of $357.31-million in the beginning of November. The properties total 1.6-million rentable square feet of storage space. Phase two of the sale, which will close the sale of the final 6 properties in the portfolio, is slated to take place in 2012. Recently, Cohen & Perfetto closed a $10.25-million sale and resulting 1031 exchange purchases on behalf of a client. After completing the sale of a property in Long Island City, NY, Cohen & Perfetto assisted the client in purchasing two 1031 exchange properties in Mt. Olive, NC and Beaufort, SC. Congratulations to Louis A. Perfetto and Marshall J. Cohen, who were recently named by the New York Super Lawyers magazine as two of the top attorneys in New York for 2011. This is the fifth year running that Mr. Perfetto and Mr. Cohen were honored. Distributed as a supplement to the Sunday, October 2, 2011 edition of the New York Times Magazine, the annual list includes only 5% of the attorneys in the state. Cohen & Perfetto recently helped long-time client Storage Deluxe close two large financing and development deals in Brooklyn and Queens, New York. Combined the two projects amounted to more than $22-M in financing for the purchase and development of the properties. In Queens, Storage Deluxe will develop a 6-story state-of-the-art storage facility near Northern Boulevard and a local Home Depot. To read more about the deal click here. Cohen & Perfetto LLP congratulates Marshall J. Cohen on his recent election as Chair of the Amputee Coalition of America Board. Mr. Cohen has been involved with the ACA, a national non-profit amputee consumer educational organization representing people who have experienced amputation or who were born with limb differences, for more than 7 years. PRACTICE AT THE PARK (June 1, 2008)
On Sunday, June 1, 2008, Cohen & Perfetto LLP sponsored "Practice at the Park" at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, home of the Staten Island Yankees. The firm hosted Kindergarten and First Grade Manhasset Baseball League Boys teams for a clinic lead by the Staten Island Yankees, as well as, former Yankee players Mickey Rivers and Roy White.
